Friday Assembly- Spelling Awards and Farewell to Mrs Bailey18-12-2015 | 15:43:06 | 1 Comment

Today’s assembly was a time for celebration! We had our usual out of school achievements followed by the presentation of the gold, silver and bronze awards from the Moorlands spelling challenge.

We also took some time to celebrate Mrs Bailey’s many years in teaching as she retires this Christmas. She was presented with a card from each year group and some flowers from the governors. She also had a special thank you from a student she used to teach who is looking forward to going to university next year.

Cristingle Service17-12-2015 | 08:24:01 | Comments Off on Cristingle Service

The children in Year 3 and 5 had a great time at St. Phillips Christingle service on Wednesday.

They shared some prayers they had written, sang some Christmas carols and talked about the Christmas story.

Year 5 made christingles, which are made with an orange to signify the world, red ribbon to signify Jesus’ blood and four cocktail sticks with sweets on to signify the four seasons and the gifts God gives us every season.

The candle which is lit represents the light of Jesus Christ.

Year 5 assembly03-12-2015 | 15:59:58 | 3 Comments

On Wednesday Year 5 did an assembly to celebrate what they have learned in their cross-curricular topic about The Victorians.

They discussed Victorian education, industry, influential people of the time and finished off with what Christmas time would have been like.

The children dressed up and sang songs to demonstrate what they have learned.

We just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all of the parents who came to watch and provided costumes!

We would love to hear any positive feedback so the children can see what you thought of their efforts.
