Werrington’s Principles21-03-2017 | 08:11:49 | Comments Off on Werrington’s Principles

Monday’s assemblies are still going well with the introduction of Werrington’s principles.  Last week we had a visit from an author who told us all about ‘Create.’  Erin-Paige Tomson made a fantastic poster to show this!

This week we had a visit from Paul who worked at Stoke City.  He shared the principle ‘Co-operate.’  Working together means success!

Don’t forget to get your ‘Co-operate’ posters in ready for next Monday’s assembly!

Werrington’s Principles06-03-2017 | 15:59:30 | Comments Off on Werrington’s Principles

Miss Craig and Mr Lindblad have been introducing Werrington’s seven principles to fit in with our school motto ‘Together We Succeed.  Every Monday in assembly a new principle is being launched with a special visitor!

Werrington principles

Last Monday we introduced the first principle of ‘Shine’ and our special visitor was Scott an important scientist.  Children were invited to make a poster to represent ‘Shine.’  The winner of the competition was Grace J in year six.  Well done Grace!

In today’s assembly, our special guest was PC Bolan and the principle was ‘Understand.’  Children can produce a poster to reflect the principle of Werrington principles ‘Understand.’

World Book Day 201702-03-2017 | 10:03:31 | Comments Off on World Book Day 2017

Miss Hampson lead a fantastic assembly this morning about why we love to read at Werrington and why we celebrate world book day.

The main aim for world book day is so that all children in the United Kingdom can have a free book. This gives every child the opportunity to love reading.

Your book token will entitle you to a free book or £1 off selected books.

Then we watched a video about a girl who hated books but learned to love them one day after a group of characters needed help finding their way back to their stories.

You can see the video if you follow this link. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=t3slC7M03jI

We would love to see pictures of the books that you get with your tokens. You can post them in the comments or send them to your teacher on dojo.

Happy World book day everyone! Happy reading!
