Rock Steady Music28-02-2018 | 11:10:14 | Comments Off on Rock Steady Music

Yesterday we had a great ‘Rock Music’ assembly provided by our visitor Michael from Rock Steady Music. The whole school sang along to the music played for them and were taught about some of the instruments needed to be in a rock band. The children now know the difference between acoustic and electric instruments.

We are all really looking forward to holding some music workshops with Rock Steady in the coming months and hopefully the children will be inspired to be in a real band!

Super Scavengers27-02-2018 | 16:40:10 | Comments Off on Super Scavengers

Forest School Club got off to a brilliant start with a scavenger hunt in the snow. After wrapping up warm we set out to find:

  • An interesting stick

  • a green leaf

  • a brown leaf

  • something round

  • something smooth

  • a piece of man-made litter

  • something you think is treasure

  • something that smells nice

  • a piece of bark

  • a seed/berry

Everyone successfully completed the hunt with some very interesting discoveries, including a snowball (something round), some bird-muck on a leaf (something smelly) and a 10p piece (round/smooth/treasure). An excellent start to our adventures 🙂

Chinese New Year16-02-2018 | 16:18:51 | Comments Off on Chinese New Year

Today we have celebrated Chinese New Year. We have learnt that it is the year of the dog, to say “Happy New Year” in Chinese, tasted some yummy foods, and made our own dancing dragons! It has been lots of fun!

Doctor Emoto social experiment16-02-2018 | 16:16:57 | Comments Off on Doctor Emoto social experiment

Mrs Marsh has being demonstrating the power of emotion through an experiment founded by Doctor Emoto.

Mrs Marsh and a group of children put some cooked rice into three jars for a period of 30 days.

The first jar the children said positive comments and words to the jar; it remained white.

The second jar the children said hurtful and spiteful comments and words to the jar; it turned mouldy and furry.

The third jar the children ignored; it turned multi-coloured, mouldy and full of fur.

We are all amazed with the results!  What do you think?

Number Day 201801-02-2018 | 22:31:56 | Comments Off on Number Day 2018

On Friday 2nd February we will be taking part in the Dress up for Digits Event for the NSPCC’s Number Day 2018. Pupils will be invited to wear non-uniform on that day but we would like them to wear at least one item of clothing with a number on it (e.g. football shirt, cap, netball shirt etc.).

To help raise money for the NSPCC, we are asking for a suggested donation of £1, and we’d love everyone in the school to take part in this special event.
