Reverend Steve’s Charity Shave29-03-2018 | 10:26:17 | Comments Off on Reverend Steve’s Charity Shave

What an exciting assembly we had today! Reverend Steve came into school and invited a pupil to shave the blue side of his beard. The red side was to be shaved off later in the day at St John’s Primary. Donations that had been sent into school were kindly received by Reverend Steve on behalf of Dylan’s Charity for Sepsis Awareness.  Many thanks for all of your generous donations.

A great big THANK YOU to all those who attended year 3 and 4’s production of ‘A Tale of Three Trees’ yesterday.

The children did a fantastic job in both the morning and afternoon productions.

Thank you once again for your support in helping to learn lines and sending in costumes.

Forest School Easter Egg Hunt20-03-2018 | 16:40:10 | Comments Off on Forest School Easter Egg Hunt

Today in Forest Schools, we had an egg hunt in the snow! After splitting into two teams, the children had to scour the grounds to search for the correct numbered eggs. Once all the eggs were found, they then had to unscramble the hidden messages to earn their reward…chocolate! We even managed to fit in some snow angels and threw a few snowballs at Mrs Bolton! See you all after Easter break 🙂

This week, Forest Schools club planted some seed potatoes. We looked at how farmers do it in our country before planting our own. We also helped re-pot some of Mrs Bolton’s class plants 🙂

Times table champions13-03-2018 | 12:03:47 | Comments Off on Times table champions

The children have once again excelled in the local schools’ times table challenge, with seven children winning certificates in recognition of the speed and accuracy with which they answered the questions.

The final competition of the year will take place after Easter, so remember to keep practising those tables at home.  There will also be awards for the most improved scores from the first challenge in October until the Summer term.

Well done to all of our winners this time.

Well Done to the Boys’ Football team08-03-2018 | 09:14:46 | Comments Off on Well Done to the Boys’ Football team

On Wed 27th February two year 5 &6 boys’ football teams entered the Premier League Primary Stars Tournament. There were 32 teams who entered the competition with a very high standard of football on display. Both Werrington teams won their mini league with style and reached the last eight (quarter finals) before being knocked out of the competition.

On behalf of Werrington Primary School I would like to congratulate both teams for their commitment and hard work on the day.

Woodland Wands06-03-2018 | 16:41:48 | Comments Off on Woodland Wands

Forest school club members this week created their very own woodland wands. We had great fun decorating them, then we used them to help free others in a very muddy game of ‘stuck in the mud’.
