As we eagerly await the completion of our new pond, the Forest School Club began building stick rafts to test out next week. It was quite challenging to get the sticks to stay together but with a bit of weaving we managed it in the end. Super teamwork and perseverance!

Team Building Day at Standon Bowers Outdoor Education Centre08-06-2018 | 10:02:10 | Comments Off on Team Building Day at Standon Bowers Outdoor Education Centre

On Monday 4th June the staff took part in a team building day.  They had to conquer fears, build bridges to keep their teams dry, navigate around a trail – blindfolded, climb the ‘Gladiator’, use their map reading skills to complete the orienteering course and finally a bit of fun was had with a tug of war.

I think it’s fair to say that we all learnt something new about ourselves and our colleagues that day!  The strength of character and resilience that many staff members displayed was admirable.  The great sense of ‘Together we succeed’ was intrinsic throughout the day.  Well done to all the staff – your teamwork and camaraderie were a pleasure to witness and I know this will continue to have a positive impact on all the work you do in school; therefore positively influencing all the pupils that you work with.

We thought the children might enjoy looking at some of the photos from the day.

Plastic…Not so Fantastic05-06-2018 | 14:44:47 | 1 Comment

Today a group of year 4 children went to Staffordshire university to take part in an activity afternoon involving art based around World Environment Day.

We discussed the effect of plastic in our oceans and how it can damage the habitats and lives of marine life.

Using plastic we created sea creatures.

Our work has been displayed in the entrance of Staffordshire University if anyone would like to see it.
